Sunflower Oil

Extra Virgin Sunflower Oil, grown in Sussex. In 2007 we grew our first crop of Sunflowers and were very pleased with the result. Because we are close to the south coast we can successfully take the crop through to what is a very late harvest. We started pressing the seeds last spring and were very surprised with the taste. It has a peppery almost Rocket flavour. As we press the whole seed you can really taste the sunflower seeds! Because of this flavour we think that the oil is very suited to salad dressings, though it can be used for any ordinary Sunflower oil use. We won a Great Taste Award for this oil in 2008 The oil is very high in Omega 6.
